Printing Technology

1. Know the various printing processes and possess the skills to produce a printed piece using the offset lithographic process.
2. Demonstrate the critical thinking skills necessary to output digital proofs, plates or film
3. Recognize and perform the various tasks required to produce a printed product using the screen-printing process.
4. Identify and translate various flexographic terminology associated with the flexographic printing processes.
5. Practice specific pre-press skills using specific software applications and equipment used in the printing industry.
6. Determine the possible solutions associated with the offset lithographic printing process by developing trouble-shooting skills needed to identify the various print quality defects found in film, plates, and prints.
7. Demonstrate entry-level skills for the printing industry through skills development in pre-press, offset duplicator and large offset press operation, flexography, and screen-printing.
