Student Learning Outcomes

 

Academic Support Center

 

As a result of regularly using the ASC, students will:

  1. succeed academically on their own and through accessing support services measured by student reports, staff reports, surveys, and test demonstrations
  2. demonstrate ethical behavior in using ASC services measured by adherence to scan-in/out procedures, appointment making/keeping, tutoring behavior, and completion of lab assignments.

 

 

As a result of regularly using the Skills Center, students will:
  1. demonstrate effective individual learner behavior in lab sessions measured by staff observations, supervisor observations, and lab user self-reports
  2. advance their academic skills in the areas they are assigned to study or choose to study measured by staff observations, supervisor observations, instructor reports, and lab user reports
  3. use technology to improve their academic skills measured by staff observations, supervisor observations, surveys, and lab user report
  4. demonstrate their ability to use their academic skills independently measured by staff observations, supervisor observations, test given to lab users, and lab user reports

 

As a result of regularly using the Tutoring Center, students will:
  1. demonstrate effective tutee behavior in tutoring sessions measured by tutor observations, coordinator observations, and tutee reports
  2. develop their ability to learn independently measured by tutor observations, coordinator observations, tutee reports, and surveys
  3. demonstrate understanding of course material in the subject(s) being tutored measured by tutor observations, coordinator observations, instructor reports, and tutee reports
  4. value the academic support provided by their tutors and the Tutoring Center measured by tutor observations, coordinator observations, tutee reports, and surveys
 

As a result of regularly using the Writing Center, students will:

  1. apply different phases of the writing process to their writing tasks measured by student reports, tutor reports, and instructor reports
  2. demonstrate effective tutee behavior in tutoring sessions measured by tutor observations, coordinator observations, and tutee reports
  3. produce successful pieces of writing through use of tutors and other assistants measured by student reports, tutor reports, instructor reports, and before/after essays
  4. value the use of tutors, peers, and other assistants in the creation of their own pieces of writing measured by student reports, tutor observations, coordinator observations, and surveys
